Adult & Community Education Victoria (ACEVic) proudly congratulates Adult Learning Australia (ALA) on the 30th anniversary of Adult Learners Week, celebrated nationally from 1–8 September 2025.
For three decades, Adult Learners Week has highlighted the transformative power of adult learning, with events across the country showcasing the achievements of learners, educators, and community providers. In Victoria, Learn Locals and ACE providers are marking the occasion with events and activities that empower thousands of people each year to take their next steps in education, work, and life.
The Learn Local sector delivers training to more than 30,000 adult learners annually, supporting diverse communities including survivors of family violence, culturally and linguistically diverse learners, people with disability, Indigenous learners, and early school leavers.
ACEVic Executive Officer, Nina Bekker, said:“Learn Locals play such a vital role delivering training both formally and informally across Victoria. They support learners from all walks of life, often those facing the greatest barriers to education.”
ACEVic warmly congratulates ALA on this important milestone and celebrates the ongoing role of Adult Learners Week in strengthening communities and fostering lifelong learning across Australia.
